- Written by a recognized prophet or apostle.
- Confirmed as authoratative by Christ, a prophet, or an
apostle.
- Written by an associate of a prophet or an apostle.
- Truthfulness.
- Agreement with works already in the canon.
- Agreement with established theology.
- Widely used and recognized by the church.
