Marketing Doctoral Candidate

 


Ms. Joanne Tran completed her bachelor’s degree in healthcare marketing and MBA at The University of Southern Mississippi. Her previous work experience includes marketing project manager at Hattiesburg Clinic, the largest multi-specialty clinic in the state, where she was responsible for continuous research and development of strategic initiatives for new product and service advancements as well as developing and implementing marketing plans for physicians and service lines. 

Joanne serves as an editorial staff member of the Journal of Business Research - Marketing by assisting associate co-editors process manuscripts submitted by authors, coordinating the peer review process, and communicating decisons to authors.  In addition, she served as President (2013-2014) of the Doctor of Business Administration Association for doctoral students in the College of Business and as a member of the University Honor Council.

Her research interests include services marketing, healthcare, consumer behavior, and branding. Her work has appeared in the Journal of Selling and at various conferences, including the American Marketing Association (AMA) Winter Marketing Educators Conference, Academy of Marketing Science (AMS) Annual Conference, Society for Marketing Advances (SMA) Annual Conference, and Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship (ASBE) Annual Conference. Joanne won the Best Student Paper Award at the 39th Annual Conference of ASBE entitled, “Exploring the Red Queen Effect on Vietnamese Small Businesses and Innovation Post-Hurricane Katrina: A Qualitative Study.”
