The Latin Vulgate
psalm 1

1 beatus vir qui non abiit in consilio impiorum
et in via peccatorum non stetit
et in cathedra pestilentiae non sedit
2
sed in lege Domini voluntas eius
et in lege eius meditabitur die ac nocte
3
 et erit tamquam lignum
quod plantatum est secus decursus aquarum
quod fructum suum dabit in tempore suo
et folium eius non defluet
et omnia quaecumque faciet prosperabuntur

4 non sic impii %non sic;
sed tamquam pulvis quem proicit ventus %a facie terrae;
5 ideo non resurgent impii in iudicio
neque peccatores in consilio iustorum
6
 quoniam novit Dominus viam iustorum
et iter impiorum peribit.

The Latin Vulgate

1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, F1 nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. 2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. 3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; F2 and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

4 The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away. 5 Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. 6 For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

FOOTNOTES:
F1: ungodly: or, wicked
F2: wither: Heb. fade

The Latin Vulgate
psalm 23

1 PSALMUS DAVID.
Dominus reget me et nihil mihi deerit
2 in loco pascuae %ibi; me conlocavit
super aquam refectionis educavit me
3 animam meam convertit
deduxit me super semitas iustitiae propter nomen suum
4
nam et si ambulavero in medio umbrae mortis
non timebo mala quoniam tu mecum es
virga tua et baculus tuus ipsa me consolata sunt
5
 parasti in conspectu meo mensam
adversus eos qui tribulant me
inpinguasti in oleo caput meum
et calix meus inebrians quam praeclarus est
6
et misericordia tua subsequitur me omnibus diebus vitae meae
et ut inhabitem in domo Domini in longitudinem dierum

The Latin Vulgate

The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2 He maketh me to lie down in green F71 pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. 3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. 4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. 5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest F72 my head with oil; my cup runneth over. 6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever. F73

FOOTNOTES:
F71: green...: Heb. pastures of tender grass
F72: anointest: Heb. makest fat
F73: for ever: Heb. to length of days
