Hi, Friends of the Louisiana Anthology,



We are proud to announce our first naughty French novel, so naughty that it was actually banned in France.  It's also the first work of fiction to be set in Louisiana.  It's Manon Lescaut, written in 1731 by Abbe Prevost.  The plot is a beautiful love story about Chevalier des Grieux and Manon Lescaut.  Des Grieux loves Manon with all his heart; Manon likes him when he's not broke. Facing persecution at home, our couple seeks a better life in New Orleans.  Will they find happiness in the deserts of Louisiana? (OK, Prevost was a little confused about Louisiana's climate.)
