Re: Proposed Problem Scope
It
has been brought to our attention that the workspace environment in many middle
schools is not conducive to group projects or experiments. Our goal, therefore,
is to provide these students and teachers with an improved combination of tools
and environment that will help facilitate hands-on learning in multiple subjects.
Existing Solution
The current situation consists of taking four desks
and placing them together to form a workstation for four students. This
workstation surface is usually uneven due to the varying heights and angled surfaces of the
individual desks. Several teachers have expressed that not having a
large level work surface is a weakness of this solution. Lack of storage for items
used in experiments or projects is also a key concern among schoolteachers.
Solution Method
In addressing this problem, we will certainly take
the concerns of these professionals into account. However, several other
factors will influence our decisions. Aspects such as safety, mobility, and
convenience are a few of the many considerations we must meet in order to
provide an innovative and worthwhile product.
Overall, it is important for us to explore all possibilities that lead
to a solution to the proposed problem, even if it does not include the
traditional approaches of the client.
