MEEN 497 / MEMT 508 - Class Announcements/Other
Date Announcement
12-2-09

An example of the details that you should write down for each element we use in the class is provided here. You should memorize the applications, number of degrees of freedom, whether the element is for 2D or 3D applications, the relevant real constants that we utilize in class, and the material properties that we use in class. This information, as well as a general understanding of how to apply the elements, will be a big part of the quizzes. Other details, such as the codes for getting the information that you need from tables, should also be recorded on your "detail summary sheets."

We will use approximately 17 elements in this class, so writing down the details of each element and studying them regularly will help you develop a better understanding how to apply ANSYS to solve a wide range of problems.
