Living WITH the Lab works by putting the ownership of the "lab" in the hands of the students, allowing faculty to focus on teaching while students maintain their own equipment and supplies. Links to "the lab" used in each of the three first-year courses are provided below.

Course   Description of the Laboratory Platform

ENGR 120 or
HNRS 120

While students must purchase their own laptop, most of the items required for the first-year courses are provided to students in ENGR 120 (or HNRS 120). The student learning platform includes an Arduino microcontroller, a robot kit, a multimeter, safety glasses, a dial caliper, pliers, screwdrivers, software and other items.

 LCD

Students teams are provided with a 4x20 LCD display, a breadboard, a switch and other supplies to support the fishtank project.

Students are provided with a knife (box cutter or exacto knife) to allow them to construct a foam core prototype.
