This was Mrs. Fulton's first grade class.  It really brought back fond memories.  Does anyone recognize the twins on the front row?  I only remember the Baker and Sanders twins.

This one was taken at Pineville Grammar School during 4th grade, I believe.  I think Eddie Tuma is the King (I'm not sure).  I can't tell about the queen or court.  The people in front did a Mexican Hat Dance as I remember.  I think that the King and Queen were chosen by collecting the most pennies.  Maybe someone else will remember for sure.

This is a snapshot of Mrs. Luttrell's third grade class at Pineville Grammar School, taken by my mother, probably on May 23, 1956.  At least the date "23" appears pretty clearly on the calendar on the back wall, and I believe Mom came to visit our class near the end of the school year. I am the one wearing a long-sleeved shirt, as I often did, even in the warmer months. Carolyn Atkins can be seen over my right shoulder near the center of the view facing the window.  She explained that she used to be seated near the front of the class, but Mrs. Luttrell eventually made her sit in the back with the boys because she was talking too much.  I hope she doesn't mind my repeating that story.  I believe that is Freddy Pittman sitting in front of me, and Suzie Cantrell sitting at the head of the class. This is the second of two snapshots of Mrs. Luttrell's third grade class at
Pineville Grammar School, taken by my mother, probably on May 23, 1956. Joy Roton Sillson found herself in this view at the PHS 30th anniversary reunion.  Three pictures above the blackboard illustrate the differences between a picture, a pitcher for beverages, and a pitcher for a ball club.  This classroom was at ground level, next to the lunch room.  If you looked out a window on the students' right, you could look across the playground toward a tire shop or garage. Remember Mr. Beall?

They look so young now, don't they?
