Access to some of the online quizzes is located in “Assignments”.

Access to all GRADES which have been posted are located in “Tools” under “Check Grades”.

Access to several tutoring sources is located in "Course Documents". You should browse through all of the items listed. Assistance specific to each section in the textbook can be accessed by clicking on the desired chapter, then the desired section within that chapter. The various sources you will find for each chapter and/or section are described briefly below.

Audio Visual Tutorial/Practice
The Audio/Visual Tutorial/Practice can be accessed by clicking on a specific chapter, click on “Audio/Visual Tutorial/Practice”, then click the link for the section you want to access. You will then click Audio/Visual Tutorial/Practice again.

A brief introduction to the section is given and a summary of the major concepts in the section are given as lessons within the section. When you select a lesson, the key concept for that lesson appears first. If you click the Review button and have your speaker turned on, you will be carried through a brief audio/visual explanation of this concept. If you click the Matched Problems button, you will be given a small sample of problems involving the concept in the lesson. If you click the title listed in the Interactive Diagram box, you will be given an interactive problem to assist you in understanding some of the concepts in the section.

When you have finished with the Audio/Visual Tutorial/Practice for a section, you can click the Close button to exit the tutorial or you can use the forward and back arrow buttons located on either side of the Close button to go to the tutorial for the next or the previous section.

Power Point Presentation

A brief Power Point summary of the major concepts in each chapter can be accessed by clicking on a specific chapter and then click “Power Point”.

Explore the Web Exercises

Some interesting application of trigonometry and interactive exercises to increase your understanding of the concepts in trigonometry and the applicability of these concepts can be accessed by clicking on a specific chapter and then click “Explore the Web Exercises”

Practice Problems
Practice Problems for each section can be accessed by clicking on the specific section. These problems can be used to practice the types of problems in each section, and a solution to each problem can be accessed by clicking "Show me the solution” When you enter an answer, click the check mark by the answer box to see if you answered correctly. The other options in this window should be self explanatory. Try it and see! You should find this to be very helpful tutoring on topics or specific problems for which you need additional explanation.

Practice Quizzes and Chapter Quizzes
A Practice Quiz by section and Chapter Quizzes for the entire chapter can be accessed by clicking the desired option for a chapter. Most of the major concepts in each chapter or section will be covered by the problems on these quizzes, but you must also study the assigned homework problems for the class and do the work in ALEKS to be sure you have studied all types of problems assigned. Unlike the Practice Problems, you will not be able to access a solution to each problem. When you submit the quiz, you will be provided with the problems, the answer you submitted, and a statement of correct or incorrect for each problem.

For chapters in which some sections are omitted from the course syllabus, the Chapter Quiz will contain problems from the omitted sections. You will not be responsible for problems from the omitted sections.

In preparation for the weekly quizzes and the exams in the course, you should use the practice, chapter, and self test to check yourself, but also go back over the homework problems you were assigned and do the work in ALEKS to be sure you have checked yourself on each type problem assigned in the course.
