Note: Weeks run Monday-Sunday.

The following assignments and dates are subject to change if conditions during the quarter require that such be done.

WEEK 1 (JUNE 3-6)

First:  Be sure that you have given your current email address to Dr. Hanna. 

ASSIGNMENT:

  1. Refer to the information about ALEKS printed on page vii in the front of your textbook.
  2. Click Here to Register with ALEKS and complete the initial assessment by Tuesday, June 8. Take the assessment just as you would a final exam so that the only topics remaining to work on will be topics you do not know.

  6. Study Section 2.4 in the Textbook,  Go to and Work through e-Professor and the Video Lectures on Blackboard for Section 2.4.
  7. Work the assigned problems in the Textbook for Section 2.4. REMINDER: Problems assigned from the textbook must be completed before taking the Weekly Quizzes. These problems will not be turned in because they can be checked using the answers in the back of the textbook. Any questions about these problems can be answered by using the ALEKS Message Center, by faxing the work to me, by telephone, or by office visit.
  8. Study Section 2.5 in the Textbook,  Go to and Work through e-Professor and the Video Lectures.  Work the assigned problems in the Textbook.

WEEK 2 (JUNE 7-13)

ASSIGNMENT:

 
  1. Study Section 2.6 in the Textbook, Go to and Work through e-Professor and the Video Lectures. Work the assigned problems in the Textbook.
  2. Study Section 3.1 in the Textbook, Go to and Work through e-Professor and the Video Lectures. Work the assigned problems in the Textbook.
  3. Study Section 3.2 in the Textbook, Go to and Work through e-Professor and the Video Lectures. Work the assigned problems in the Textbook.
  4. Study Section 3.3 in the Textbook, Go to and Work through e-Professor and the Video Lectures. Work the assigned problems in the Textbook.
  5. Go to ALEKS and work on topics in the ALEKS Pie. ALEKS total percentage goal = 30% . Your progress and % completion is located under "Report" in ALEKS.  NOTE: Just as the assignments from the textbook, your work in the ALEKS Pie is necessary in order to assure that you have learned the required material and will be able to do well on the quizzes.

WEEK 3 (JUNE 14-20)

ASSIGNMENT:

  1. Study Section 4.1 in the Textbook, Go to and Work through e-Professor and the Video Lectures. Work the assigned problems in the Textbook.
  2. Study Section 4.2 in the Textbook, Go to and Work through e-Professor and the Video Lectures. Work the assigned problems in the Textbook.

  3. Study Section 4.3 in the Textbook,  Go to and Work through e-Professor and the Video Lectures. Work the assigned problems in the Textbook.

  4. Study Section 6.4 in the Textbook, Go to and Work through e-Professor and the Video Lectures. Work the assigned problems in the Textbook.

  5. Go to ALEKS and work on topics in the ALEKS Pie. ALEKS total goal = 55%.

WEEK 4 (JUNE 21-27)

ASSIGNMENT:

  1. Study Section 6.6 in the Textbook, Go to and Work through e-Professor and the Video Lectures. Work the assigned problems in the Textbook.

  2. Study Section 2.3 in the Textbook,  Go to and Work through e-Professor and the Video Lectures. Work the assigned problems in the Textbook.

  3. Study Section 6.7 in the Textbook,  Go to and Work through e-Professor and the Video Lectures. Work the assigned problems in the Textbook.

  4. Go to ALEKS and work on topics in the ALEKS Pie. ALEKS total goal = 63%.

  7. Go To and Take Quiz 3 (Sections 2.3, 6.6- 6.7 ) in ALEKS no later than Monday, June 28.

WEEK 5 (JUNE 28-JULY 4)

ASSIGNMENT:

  1. Study Section 7.1 in the Textbook, Go to and Work through e-Professor and the Video Lectures. Work the assigned problems in the Textbook.

  2. Study Section 7.2 in the Textbook, Go to and Work through e-Professor and the Video Lectures. Work the assigned problems in the Textbook.

  3. Study Section 7.3 in the Textbook,  Go to and Work through e-Professor and the Video Lectures. Work the assigned problems in the Textbook.

  4. Study Section 7.4 in the Textbook, Go to and Work through e-Professor and the Video Lectures. Work the assigned problems in the Textbook.

  5. Go to ALEKS and work on topics in the ALEKS Pie. ALEKS total goal = 71%.

WEEK 6 (JULY 5-11)

ASSIGNMENT:

  1. REVIEW SECTIONS 2.3-7.4, ALL STUDY TIPS, AND ALL QUIZZES IN PREPARATION FOR MIDQUARTER EXAM.
  2. (Go to Additional Instructional and Tutoring Services, Practice Problems, Chapter Tests, and Self Tests in Blackboard as needed for review for midquarter exam.)

  3. MIDQUARTER EXAMINATION TO BE SCHEDULED AFTER COMPLETION OF ALL WORK FOR SECTIONS 2.3-7.4. The midquarter examination must be taken at a pre-arranged time on the Ruston campus of Louisiana Tech University. Contact Dr. Hanna to set up the time and date for the exam.
  4. Study Section 7.5 in the Textbook, Go to and Work through e-Professor and the Video Lectures. Work the assigned problems in the Textbook.

  5. Study Section 7.6 in the Textbook, Go to and Work through e-Professor and the Video Lectures. Work the assigned problems in the Textbook.

  6. Study Section 8.1 in the Textbook, Go to and Work through e-Professor and the Video Lectures. Work the assigned problems in the Textbook.
  7. Go to ALEKS and continue to work on topics in the ALEKS Pie.

WEEK 7 (JULY 12-18)

ASSIGNMENT:

  1. Study Section 8.2 in the Textbook, Go to and Work through e-Professor and the Video Lectures. Work the assigned problems in the Textbook.
  2. Study Section 8.3 in the Textbook, Go to and Work through e-Professor and the Video Lectures. Work the assigned problems in the Textbook.
  3. Study Section 11.2 in the Textbook, Go to and Work through e-Professor (omit focus and directrix), and the Video Lectures (In #17 find vertex only and omit #29). Work the assigned problems in the Textbook.
  4. Study Section 8.4 in the Textbook, Go to and Work through e-Professor and the Video Lectures. Work the assigned problems in the Textbook.
  5. Go to ALEKS and work on topics in the ALEKS Pie. ALEKS total goal = 83%.

  1. Study Section 3.5 in the Textbook, Go to and Work through e-Professor and the Video Lectures. Work the assigned problems in the Textbook
  2. Study "Domain" on pages 328-329 in Section 6.1.  Go to and Work through the Video Lecture for Exercise 11.
  3. Study Appendix B-8 & B-9 in the Textbook and work the assigned problems.
  4. Study Section 9.1 in the Textbook, Go to and Work through e-Professor and the Video Lectures. Work the assigned problems in the Textbook.
  5. Study Section 9.3 in the Textbook, Go to and Work through e-Professor and the Video Lectures. Work the assigned problems in the Textbook.
  6. Go to ALEKS and work on topics in the ALEKS Pie. ALEKS total goal = 91%.

WEEK 9 (JULY 26-AUGUST 1 )

  1. Study Section 9.4 in the Textbook, Go to and Work through e-Professor and the Video Lectures. Work the assigned problems in the Textbook.
  2. Study Section 10.1 in the Textbook, Go to and Work through e-Professor and the Video Lectures. Work the assigned problems in the Textbook.
  3. Study Section 10.2 in the Textbook, Go to and Work through e-Professor and the Video Lectures. Work the assigned problems in the Textbook.
  4. Study Section 10.3 in the Textbook, Go to and Work through e-Professor and the Video Lectures. Work the assigned problems in the Textbook.
  5. Go to ALEKS and work on topics in the ALEKS Pie. ALEKS total goal = 95%.

WEEK 10 (AUGUST 2-8)

  2. Study Section 11.3 in the Textbook, Go to and Work through e-Professor and the Video Lectures. Work the assigned problems in the Textbook.
  3. Study Section 11.4 in the Textbook, Go to and Work through e-Professor and the Video Lectures . Work the assigned problems in the Textbook.
  4. Go to ALEKS and work on topics in the ALEKS Pie. ALEKS total goal = 100%.
  5. (Go to Practice Problems for each section on Blackboard as needed.)

WEEK 11 (AUGUST 9-13)

ASSIGNMENT:

REVIEW FOR AND TAKE FINAL EXAM AS SCHEDULED

  1. REVIEW ALL SECTIONS, YOUR MIDQUARTER EXAM, ALL STUDY TIPS, AND ALL QUIZZES IN PREPARATION FOR FINAL EXAM.
  2. Go to ALEKS and work on topics in the ALEKS Pie to reach the ALEKS total goal  = 100%
  3. (Go to Additional Instructional and Tutoring Services, Practice Problems, Chapter Tests, and Self Tests in Blackboard as needed for review for FINAL exam.)
  4. FINAL EXAMINATION TO BE TAKEN NO LATER THAN FRIDAY AUGUST 13 AS SCHEDULED.* The final examination must be taken at a pre-arranged time on the Ruston campus of Louisiana Tech University.

 

*Graduating seniors must take the final exam in time to submit their final course grades by 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 11.
