Course Description:
Animal Physiology (Biological Sciences 320). A general and comparative approach to
the principles and concepts of physiology which apply to animal systems.

Animal Physiology: Mechanisms and Adaptations, 4th Edition.
By Randall, Burggren, and French. Published by W. H. Freeman and Co.
Examinations:
Four multiple choice exams, covering material presented in class lectures and assigned
readings from the text (see the Lecture Outline for topics covered). Each exam
is worth 100 points.
Library Research Paper:
In addition to examination scores, students who want to earn an "A" or a
"B" in the course, are also required to turn in a satisfactory library
research report paper on a subject related to recent advances in animal physiology.
See Library Paper for further instructions on writing this
paper. Although no grade is assigned to the paper -- only "satisfactory"
or "unsatisfactory" -- a satisfactory paper is required to earn an "A"
or a "B". Students who are satisfied with a "C" will not be
required to submit a paper.
