Am I a part of the Body?

- Anyone (including a child or teen) by God's undeserved love shown to the world (grace) by giving his only son (Jesus) [John 3:16], through believing on the word of God (faith) {Ephesians 2:8} can be saved from the penalty, power and presence of sin if they believe in their heart that God raised Jesus from the dead, and confess with their mouth the Lord Jesus (Romans 10:9).

- By following the above prescription each believer is baptized into the one body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12:13). This body of Christ makes up the church (Ephesians 1:22-23). The true church (the body of Christ) has nothing to do with the building or the denomination of the building.

- Jesus Christ (The Word; John 1:1-2,14) is the head of the body of Christ (Ephesians 1:22). With Jesus as the head we should look to him for all sight, sound, and state of mind. In other words do what Jesus would have us to do in every situation. This is the true meaning of being a Christian (Christ-like).

- The body of Christ has many members (people that are saved) that are all one, but with different functions (1 Corinthians 12:12;Romans 12:5). Each dot in the drawing of the body of Christ below represents thousands of believers. The body of Christ has been uniquely put together by God (I Corinthians 12:18).

- Just as our body has various parts (finger, heart, lungs, toes, knee, elbow, etc.), so it is in the body of Christ. We (the youth and adults) must find our place in the body of Christ so we can function as a whole.

- Certain members (apostles, prophets, teachers, evangelists, and pastors) of the church are uniquely related to all other members so that the whole body can become mature, knowledgeable, full statured, spiritually established, rooted & grounded, free from deception, able to grow, and unified (Ephesians 4:11-16; I Corinthians 12:28).

- Although certain members have more seen responsibilities, each member is necessary for the body of Christ to function properly (I Corinthians 12:21-26). This is sort of like your arm seeming more important than your liver because you can see it, but in reality the liver is just as important. Also if one member of your body is hurt the rest of your body usually knows about it.

- As the body of Christ we have some important missions to carry out (Matthew 18:18-20; Mark 16:15-18; II Corinthians 5:17-21), therefore we must find our proper place in the body of Christ.

- If we allow God to work in our lives, then He will empower us to be effective witnesses (Acts 1:8), and carry out the work of Christ on earth. With the help of the Holy Ghost (God's helper on earth) we become workers with God (I Corinthians 3:9; II Corinthians 6:1).

- God the Father, God the Son, or God the Holy Ghost will not do any work on the earth without us, the body of Christ, taking part. If we are obedient then God's wisdom, word, and spirit will take control.

WE MUST FIND OUT WHAT OUR FUNCTION IS
AS A BELIEVER
