Memory verses:
John 17:17 | . . . thy word is truth |
John 14:6 | Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life ..." |
Words to chew on:
One of the most significant things that Jesus has
done for us is introduce us to the truth. God's word has always
been truth, but no man ever lived completely within the truth,
until Jesus. In a day in which man tries to say nothing is either
right or wrong, we need truth. Satan's number one scheme is to
keep man away from the truth. Satan has been the father of lies
from the beginning of mans fall (John 8:44). Jesus provided the
perfect example of how to walk in truth and destroyed the works
of the devil. Anything contrary to the truth is a lie. We must
study the word (which is truth) in order to know how to walk in
the truth.
Many of us except circumstances, which may be factual, over the
truth. The old phrase what you see is what you get is a lie from
satan. What you see may not be what Jesus sees. When satan presents
you with something that may be factual but not the truth, hit
him with the truth.
Application:
Believe and act only on the truth
o When presented with any of life's situations, find out if it
is the truth (in the word).
o If found in the truth (the word) continue to believe and act
on the truth (the word).
o If your situation is not the truth (in the word), find out the
truth (from the word) about your situation and start believing
and acting on the truth (the word).
o Remember: Don't except facts, walk in truth
