WEEK 1 (JUNE 1-4)

First:  Please note that all email correspondence will be sent to your LA Tech email address and through MyMathLab. It is necessary that you check your LA Tech Email, Moodle Announcements, and the MyMathLab Announcements at least once a day and that you keep in contact with the teacher. Since there are no regular class meetings or lectures, it is necessary that each student complete the assignments and bring up any questions or problems by using MyMathLab, by ZOOM, by telephone, or by email. Any issues with accessing technology, which are related to a disability, should be reported to the instructor as soon as possible.

Note: There are no on-campus attendance requirements for this course. Attendance will be recorded based on your individual login time and progress with MyMathLab and the dates your individual assignments are submitted.

ASSIGNMENT:

  1. You will access MyMathLab at www.mymathlab.com.
  2. Students who chose to participate in the Bulldog Bundle will retrieve their MyMathLab access code on Moodle. Students who chose to opt out of the Bulldog Bundle will need to purchase access on the MyMathLab website.
  3. Complete the Orientation Exercises (optional assignment) by Sunday, June 4. Necessary if you have not previously used MyMathLab.
  4. Click Here To Go To and Print Instructions for Accessing and Using Moodle. 
  5. Study Section P.2 in the text and complete the Section P.2 Homework Exercises.
  6. NOTE: There are Media Assignments available for each section. These assignments are optional and will not be included in your final grade calculation. However, these Media Assignments include PowerPoint Slides, Video Lectures, and other tutorial resources that may be helpful in learning the course content.

WEEK 2 (JUNE 5-11)

ASSIGNMENT:

 

1.      Study Section P.3 in the text and complete the Section P.3 Homework Exercises.

2.      Study Section P.4 in the text and complete the Section P.4 Homework Exercises.

3.      Study Section P.5 in the text and complete the Section P.5 Homework Exercises.

4.      Complete the Quiz on Sections P.2, P.3, P.4, and P.5.

5.      REMINDER: The Homework Exercises must be completed before taking the Weekly Quizzes. The Homework Exercises and Quizzes will be included in determining your final grade in the course. Any questions about these problems can be answered by using MyMathLab, by telephone, or by office visit.

6.      All Homework Exercises and Quizzes for Sections P.2, P.3, P.4, and P.5 are due no later than Sunday, June 11.

7.      NOTE: There are Media Assignments available for each section. These assignments are optional and will not be included in your final grade calculation. However, these Media Assignments include PowerPoint Slides, Video Lectures, and other tutorial resources that may be helpful in learning the course content.

WEEK 3 (JUNE 12-18)

ASSIGNMENT:

1.      Study Section P.6 in the text and complete the Section P.6 Homework Exercises.

2.      Study Section P.7 in the text and complete the Section P.7 Homework Exercises.

3.      Study Section 1.1 in the text and complete the Section 1.1 Homework Exercises.

4.      Complete the Quiz on Sections P.6, P.7, and 1.1.

5.      All Homework Exercises and Quizzes for Sections P.6, P.7, and 1.1 are due no later than Sunday, June 18.

6.      NOTE: There are Media Assignments available for each section. These assignments are optional and will not be included in your final grade calculation. WEEK 4 (JUNE 19-25)

ASSIGNMENT:

1.      Study Section 1.2 in the text and complete the Section 1.2 Homework Exercises.

2.      Study Section 1.3 in the text and complete the Section 1.3 Homework Exercises.

3.      Study Section 1.4 in the text and complete the Section 1.4 Homework Exercises.

4.      Complete the Quiz on Sections 1.2, 1.3, and 1.4.

5.      All Homework Exercises and Quizzes for Sections 1.2, 1.3, and 1.4 are due no later than Sunday, June 25.

6.      NOTE: There are Media Assignments available for each section. These assignments are optional and will not be included in your final grade calculation. However, these Media Assignments include PowerPoint Slides, Video Lectures, and other tutorial resources that may be helpful in learning the course content.

8.      EXAM I will cover Sections P.2-P.7, 1.1-1.4 and must be taken on Monday, June 26. The test will be monitored using ZOOM. You will receive an email in advance with specific testing and ZOOM details.

WEEK 5 (JUNE 26-JULY 2)

ASSIGNMENT:

ASSIGNMENT:

3.      Study Section 4.4 in the text and complete the Section 4.4 Homework Exercises.

4.      Complete the Quiz on Sections 4.2-4.4.

5.      All Homework Exercises, and Quizzes for Sections 4.2-4.4 are due no later than Sunday, July 30.

WEEK 10 (JULY 31-AUG. 6)

ASSIGNMENT:

1.      Study Section 5.1 in the text and complete the Section 5.1 Homework Exercises.

2.      Study Section 5.2 in the text and complete the Section 5.2 Homework Exercises.

3.      Complete the Quiz on Sections 5.1-5.2.

4.      All Homework Exercises and Quizzes for Sections 5.1-5.2 are due no later than Sunday, Aug. 6.

5.      NOTE: There are Media Assignments available for each section. These assignments are optional and will not be included in your final grade calculation. 7.      EXAM III will cover Sections 1.6, 4.1-4.4, 5.1-5.2 and must be taken on Monday, August 7. The test will be monitored using ZOOM. You will receive an email in advance with specific testing and ZOOM details.

IF THE OPTIONAL FINAL EXAMINATION IS TAKEN, IT MUST BE TAKEN ON THURSDAY, AUG. 10. THE TEST WILL BE MONITORED USING ZOOM.

YOU MUST NOTIFY ME BY MONDAY, AUG. 7 IF YOU PLAN TO TAKE THE OPTIONAL FINAL EXAM.

 

WEEK 11 (AUG. 7-10)

ASSIGNMENT:

REVIEW SECTIONS 1.6, 4.1-4.4, 5.1-5.2, ALL HOMEWORK EXERCISES FOR THOSE SECTIONS, AND ALL QUIZZES FOR THOSE SECTIONS IN PREPARATION FOR EXAM III.

 

EXAM III will cover Sections 1.6, 4.1-4.4, 5.1-5.2 and must be taken on Monday, August 7. The test will be monitored using ZOOM. You will receive an email in advance with specific testing and ZOOM details.

 

REVIEW ALL SECTIONS, ALL HOMEWORK EXERCISES, AND ALL QUIZZES IN PREPARATION FOR THE OPTIONAL FINAL EXAM AS IT WILL BE A COMPREHENSIVE FINAL EXAM.

 

THE OPTIONAL FINAL EXAMINATION MUST BE TAKEN ON THURSDAY, AUGUST 10. THE TEST WILL BE MONITORED USING ZOOM.

 

YOU MUST NOTIFY ME BY MONDAY, AUG. 7 IF YOU PLAN TO TAKE THE OPTIONAL FINAL EXAM.
