Engineering and Science's Day

The College of Engineering and Science (COES) at LA Tech hosts the Engineer's Day every year in Spring. About 800 high-schools students from around the area visit Tech for a day. They are informed of the various options available within COES and showed excitement that exists in each program area. The students are divided in the groups of approximately 30 and rotated between each of the various programs for demonstrations.

Dr. Mainardi participates every year to incorporate the idea of molecular modeling into the demonstrations to students. Two very visual displays of nanotechnology simulation are projected as senior chemical engineering students discussed how chemical engineering incorporates everything from the smallest nanoscale research to the largest production facilities.
