Course Description:
Basic laws, principles and issues related to the causes, effects and controls of current environmental problems.  Three hours credit.

Environmental Science, 6th Edition, Nebel and Wright, Prentis-Hall Inc.

Ecosystems and how they work
Human Population Growth and its effects on the environment
Pollution and Public Policy
Renewable and non-renewable resources

Examinations:
Four multiple-choice exams, covering material presented in assigned readings and in lecture. Each exam is worth 100 points.  There will also be an assigned paper  worth 50 points (see below).

Paper:
Each student is required to turn in a two page, double-spaced typed review of an approved published technical article about some aspect related to environmental science.  The paper will be worth 50 points.  

Final Grade:
405 - 450 points (90% - 100%) .....A
360 - 404 points (80% -  89%).......B
315 - 359 points (70% -  79%) ......C
270 - 314 points (60% -  69%) ......D
less than 270 points ................ F
