Collin D. Wick

Since September 2007, I have been a part of the Chemistry Program at Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, LA. In September 2013, I was promoted to Associate Professor with Tenure, given an endowed Professorship from Century Link Telecom (which is headquartered in Monroe, LA), and became the Program Chair of Chemistry. In the summer of 2017, I was given the position of Interim Associate Dean of Graduate Studies for the College of Engineering and Science. My office is located in Bogard Hall room 253A. My research efforts are primarily computational in nature, but have evolved significantly over the years. I have studied phase equilibria, properties of aqueous interfaces, polymer structure and properties, but more lately, I have been primarily working on solid-state systems. These include investigating battery electrodes, ceramic-metal interfaces, and developing molecular models for these. I teach or have taught physical chemistry lectures and laboratories, statistical mechanics, environmental chemistry, polymer chemistry, advanced quantum mechanics, and general chemistry courses depending on the quarter. If you are more interested in me, personal and professional info are provided below.
