Biography

    Dr. Yang Xiao (the last name is Xiao) was born in Changchun, Jilin Province, P. R. China. He received his B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Southeast University (Nanjing, China) in 2006. After conducting a portion of his Ph.D. work in 2010-2012 under Dr. Guomin Xiao’s supervision at Southeast University, and a portion of his Ph.D. work in 2012-2015 at Purdue University under Prof. Arvind Varma’s supervision, he received his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Southeast University in 2015. He was a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Prof. Varma’s research group in 2015-2018, and then appointed as a Research Scientist in 2018-2019. Dr. Xiao was promoted to Senior Research Engineer, an independent Principal Investigator (PI) in late 2019 at Purdue University. He joined Louisiana Tech University as a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Chemical Engineering in March 2022.
